The Northeast Power is concerned that everyone understands the potential hazards of contacting electric lines. ALWAYS ASSUME THAT ANY POWER LINE IS ENERGIZED! Call Northeast Power 24 hours a day to report a downed power line. Stay away from any downed power lines and keep others away.
People are needlessly hurt and killed each year by forgetting about overhead power lines and carrying a ladder or antenna into the line. Farmers and their helpers can forget about overhead lines and drive tall equipment like grain augers into the power lines. Northeast Power will furnish customers with a weatherproof sticker that says “Look up and Live”. The sticker is ideal for placing on grain bins, ladders, augers and other possible hazards. Please call 800-750-9277 to request a sticker or use this site to request a sticker/brochure online. You can also download/print a safety brochure request form in either Word document format or PDF format that has an option to request the "look up an Live" sticker as well as the saftey brochures below. You can also view some Public Safety Announcements (PSA) from Safe Electricity on our PSA Video Page.
The Northeast Power wants you to be safe around electricity. You may request one copy each by mail of these publications by submitting a request form. These booklets are informative and easy to read. Enjoy and stay safe! Download/print a safety brochure request form in either Word document format or PDF format or use our Online Safety Brochure Request Form.
